Visage is an independentsurvival horrorvideo game by SadSquare Studio. The game is inspired by P.T.. The game ran Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaigns.
Visage has a similar setting and gameplay as its spiritual predecessor P.T. The game takes place in a large suburban home and utilizes a first-person-perspective.
The player controls Dwayne Anderson, an inhabitant of the home who committed suicide after killing his wife and children. Dwayne is trapped inside the house and is tormented by supernatural entities. The objective of the game is to find a way out of the house and learn about the cause of all the paranormal activity.
The house is designed as a semi-open world, with large sections freely explorable to the player at all times and multiple pathways to reach each area. However, in order to fully explore the map, players will need to find keys to unlock each door first.
The player must face several hazards while exploring. First, they will have avoid dark areas to manage their sanity. Sanity, like similar systems in games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent, is decreased if Dwayne stays in the dark for too long.
Secondly, ghosts will create paranormal events by manipulating the house as the player explores. Examples include light bulbs breaking, doors slamming or opening, and electronic devices malfunctioning. Witnessing these events will cause Dwayne's sanity to fall.
Lastly, Dwayne must avoid being caught by the various ghosts and demons that inhabit the home. Being caught by these ghosts and demons means instant death, so players must carefully maneuver through the house to avoid them.
The lower Dwayne's sanity, the more severe each paranormal event becomes, up to the point that a ghost or demon will appear and attack the player.
Players can use lighters, pills, light bulbs, and candles to help them avoid these threats. Lighters allow the player to move through dark areas without a light, taking pills can recover sanity, light bulbs can be used to repair broken lights, and candles are a light source that ghosts cannot manipulate. There are various other items the player can find and use, like a camera or a sledgehammer.
Dwayne has a very limited inventory and can store only five of these items at a time, and hold two more in his hands. As a result, the player must explore the house very carefully to uncover the truth.
Visage is split into three chapters that can be completed in any order. Each chapter centers around a different person who once lived in the suburban home the game takes places in. The final chapter of the game is divided into seven subchapters, which are unlocked by finding VHS tapes around the house.
The game opens in 1985, with a scene in which a man (heavily implied to be Dwayne Anderson) shoots and kills his wife and two children before committing suicide. Moments later, Dwayne Anderson wakes up in an empty room covered in blood. After he stumbles out of the room, his neighbor Rose calls on the landline, and claims that she hasn't seen Dwayne leave the house in three weeks. He tries opening the front door but it is locked. /call-of-duty-for-ppsspp-highly-compressed/. Paranormal events begin occurring throughout the house, and Dwayne begins searching the house for a way out.
After wandering around, confused what should he do, he finds the key to a door, which leads to hell, in form of an extremely cold world. The trail leads him to a tree house, where he is locked by a demon, who via a radio repeatedly begging someone named Lucy to come and corporate with each other. A comic-structured set of drawings illustrate Lucy being friends with a demon, leading to her burning a house, ending with both being friends happily alongside a bird cage. Not long later, the house crumbles.
Dwayne wakes up at the living room. The house is now blacked out. He finds a broken wall leading to an empty room, with a door leading to a hallway filled with bird cages and furniture. Due to the blackness of the house, he casually gets insane and gets knocked out for several times. In order to keep sane whilst in blacked-out places, he shutters a camera in order to produce flashing lights. At the basement, he was shocked with Lucy's face on the door, and runs away. Amidst a walkaround, he decided to dip in the bathtub, which has not been turned off for long. Lucy appears from underwater and drowns Dwayne.
Whilst unconscious, he was made dreaming of Lucy's story; his vision was blurred, grayscale, and has a high vignette opacity, with the figures being black-colored. Lucy was a young girl who loved birds, and pet one, Peaco. However her behavior twisted: she claimed she has imaginary friends and refuses to recognize her parents. One day, she murdered Peaco, and her father suggested to her mother to take her to therapy, as this is abnormal behavior. When a therapist was hired, her helicopter mother disliked his treatment method, while her father supports having her on therapy. Dwayne later self-drowned in a blood-pooled tub with bloody writings. At the bathroom, he slightly regained consciousness, laying on the floor as the dream concludes Lucy being possessed by the demon from the tree house drawing, killed with her jaw ejected before her parents could enter the locked bathroom.
Visage started development in January 2015 and was announced in September 2015. The game was successfully financed by a Kickstarter campaign running from January through March 2016. The release date was set for 2018. According to the developers, the use of jump scares has been kept to a minimum. The game uses an atmospheric soundtrack that also gives hints and clues to alert the players about the dangers lurking in the house. The developers state that it's not an easy game, taking about 8-10 hours to complete the main story. As of September 12, 2018, SadSquare Studio announced on their Facebook page that 'we aim to release a playable version of the game this month on PC. A delay is VERY unlikely, but still possible. We'll let you know as soon as we know'.
On September 25, 2018, SadSquare studio announced that the demo for Visage will be released on Steam on October 2, 2018, and an early access version containing the first chapter, centered around the violent ghost of a young girl named 'Lucy', was released in October as planned.
A new chapter for early access named 'Dolores' was released on July 4, 2019.
On February 15, 2020, SadSquare Studio announced that 'the main content of Visage is pretty much done', and that they are currently projecting for a fall 2020 release. On October 23, 2020, SadSquare Studio confirmed that the game would be fully releasing on October 30, 2020 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Horror is one of the most complicated genres and tough to get right. We’ve seen a bunch of novels and movies that have set the benchmark for what horror should be. But what about games? Well, we have those too, in abundance. But proper gaming is tough for the everyday user. Thankfully, there are some dedicated mobile games that allow you to play from home or when you’re away. These games generally help you kill the time, and at times can be very addictive, especially those with zombie themes.
So what are some of the best horror games available for Android right now? Well, there are plenty. But we can’t get through them all, so let’s talk about the top five games that can be scary in their own way. So without waiting any further, here are five of the best horror games available for Android right now.
5 best horror games
Into the Dead 2
If you’re familiar with Into the Dead, you’ll find yourself at home with this title. For those who don’t know, this is a widely popular zombie game that has attracted millions of users from around the world. There are multiple games in this genre, but this one strikes as being the most fun. The game consists of standard chapters split into 60 stages, and a variety of in-game challenges to further you up the ladder. The story evolves constantly, which means there are multiple ways the game could end. This makes for a more exciting experience as one user’s gameplay will be different from the other’s.
To make killing zombies even more satisfying, there are a variety of weapons to choose from. You can also choose to go after the zombies with a knife or simply on foot. The varied gameplay allows you to reach a particular conclusion using multiple methods. Naturally, the difficulty gets harder and harder as you progress through the game. This means your weapons will have to be updated regularly to match up to the quantity of zombies coming towards you. This is also where in-app purchases come in, helping you level up your gear to fight the enemy more efficiently.
The app might require an internet connection to work smoothly, and it is recommended to be on Wi-Fi. You can download Into the Dead 2 for free, but there are ads and some in-app purchases in place. You can run the game as long as you have an Android smartphone or tablet running Android 4.1 or higher.
DISTRAINT: Pocket Pixel Horror
This is one of the most haunting games that I’ve come across. It doesn’t seem all that scary, but as the story progresses, it unravels some layers that can scare most people. It has a nice message too, which helps. This is a port from the PC version, which means the developer had to make some changes to the app before deploying it to the Play Store. Needless to say, the developer has done a fantastic job with this app and we strongly recommend trying this if you’re into horror games.
You play as Price, the protagonist, and follow through his story. The challenges are quite interesting, and the entire game should take about 4 hours to finish. This is psychological horror at its best, so proceed with caution if you get scared too easily. The game isn’t heavy on graphics, but the gameplay as well as the background music makes for a thrilling experience overall. The game can be downloaded for free from the Play Store, although you will have to deal with ads. There is an in-app purchase for $1.49 which will let you enjoy the game ad-free. In terms of compatibility, having a device with Android 4.0 (or better) should do the job.

Dead Effect 2
This is the sequel to the popular zombie killing game Dead Effect. The second iteration brings forth a renewed gameplay and some exciting additions to make the gameplay even better. You can have three characters here, all fully customizable with a ton of weapons and body parts (for zombies) to choose from. This game doesn’t necessarily need multiplayer interaction as it has a lengthy single player campaign that can last 20+ hours. If you have the means to connect your phone to a bigger screen, we highly recommend playing this with a Bluetooth controller.
The game is designed for the SHIELD as well, so if you own one of NVIDIA’s consoles, the gameplay should be on par with most modern consoles. The graphics will definitely impress the users as there are multiple new elements added to the mix. If you’re new to the Dead Effect franchise, this is probably the best game to start with. The game can be downloaded for free and is ad-supported. You can upgrade your weapons and other aspects using in-app purchases. The game is compatible with devices on Android 4.1 and up. For honor 3dm crack.
I Have No Mouth
This is an incredibly popular game back in the 90s in the form of a PC title based on the short story “I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream” by Harlan Ellison. The gameplay will remind you of the classic games of the 90s with mostly pixel and shaky characters. That adds to the appeal of the game, to be honest, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s customizable music too, although the choice is quite limited.
You can conveniently alternate between touch mode and classic mode, allowing you the flexibility to play the way you want. There are five characters in the game who are the survivors of a mass extinction. These five people are punished to live immortally in this new world to pay for their sins. Each character can progress through the journey in different ways, which adds multiple endings to the mix. The puzzles can surely tickle your brain a bit and can be time consuming to solve at times. The game is not free, however. You’ll have to shell out $3.99 for this on the Play Store. On the upside, you won’t get ads or any other in-app purchases, you get the entire game for the aforementioned price. Be sure to check it out from the Play Store.
Rusty Lake Hotel
This is a pretty haunting game on its own, offering a pretty catchy soundtrack and a gameplay consisting of 6 rooms. Each room has its own music, which adds to the overall experience. There’s a lot of mystery and suspense with the game, with the brain teasers testing your mental ability efficiently. You can collect items along the way to use them during the course of your journey. It’s a unique game with a varied type of characters, which is something that we don’t come across a lot. All the characters are animals, by the way. Rusty Lake Hotel will cost you $1.99, and comes with no ads or in-app purchases.
